San Angelo ISD Join Community Partners to Welcome New Difference Makers at 5th Annual Tailgate Event

San Angelo ISD welcomed more than 100 new SAISD professionals to the district during the 5th Annual New to the SAISD Team Tailgate July 30. The tailgate-style, celebratory event took place in the San Angelo Stadium parking lot and kicked off three days of professional learning support and development. 

“We're thrilled for our annual tailgate, as it is one of our favorite events of the year!” said Dr. Farrah Gomez, deputy superintendent and chief academic officer. “Not only are we welcoming new educators to SAISD, but we’re also embracing them into the vibrant San Angelo community.”

SAISD campuses and departments and students participated in the event, cheering on the educators and staff and welcoming their new campus or department team members to the district, and in some cases, to the San Angelo community. More than 50 local businesses and organizations also attended the tailgate to welcome and show their support of the new SAISD team members.
