San Angelo ISD Continues Academic Gains in 2025-2026 A-F Accountability Data

San Angelo ISD continued its upward trajectory in academic performance, according to the 2025-2026 A-F accountability data from the Texas Education Agency scheduled to be released later this week. While the District maintained a “C” rating, its overall score increased from 73 to 76, demonstrating continued progress. District leaders recognize that a “C” is not where San Angelo ISD intends to remain and are committed to building on this momentum as the District works toward earning the highest rating possible. 

Districtwide, Student Achievement and Closing the Gaps rose by three points, and both Academic Growth and Relative Performance jumped up five points.

“It’s no mistake our students are growing academically and that progress is significant with so many students,” said Superintendent Dr. Christopher Moran. “We recognize we still have a lot of work to do, but our instructional staff continues to zero in on the students, classrooms and campuses that need the most support.” 

Key Highlights from the A-F Accountability Data

• Belaire Elementary achieved the District’s largest single-year turnaround, increasing 19 points overall from 59 to 78. The campus also recorded an 11-point gain in Student Achievement.
• Lamar Elementary increased 15 points and earned a “B” rating. The Lions’ Student Achievement score increased by five points, while the campus also recorded gains in Academic Growth (+9) and Closing the Gaps (+22).
• Central High School increased seven points and earned a “B” rating. The Bobcats recorded gains in Academic Growth (+11), Relative Performance (+9), Student Achievement (+7) and Closing the Gaps (+4).
• Goliad Elementary increased six points, improving from 66 to 72.
• Fannin Elementary increased 13 points, improving from 56 to 69.
• Reagan Elementary increased 13 points and moved from an “F” to a “D”.
• Fort Concho Elementary and Santa Rita Elementary maintained their “A” ratings.
• Lincoln Middle School gained nine points and moved from an “F” to a “D,” and Lone Star Middle School gained five points

Looking Ahead
To build on this progress, San Angelo ISD will focus on:

• Ensuring 100% of district campuses meet or exceed federal performance targets in academic achievement and growth to avoid identification as Comprehensive Support and Improvement or Comprehensive Progress campuses by August 2028
• Increasing the percentage of students meeting the expected growth measure for NWEA MAP testing for grades 2-8 Reading, English I, and English II by 8% and grades 3-8 Math and Algebra I by 10%
• Improving alignment of instructional resources across the district
• Implementing additional support and structures for students
• Protecting instructional time through adjustments to bell schedules

“Our teaching staff is committed to improving what and how we teach students through collaboration with one another,” said Moran. “We have positive momentum and are headed in the right direction.”
